Project Type: Rolling Door Systems
Project Name: C-130 Fuel Cell & Corrosion Control
Project Location: East Granby, CT
Cutter Enterprises contracted for the aircraft hangar door system for a new construction of the Fuel Cell and Corrosion hangar located in East Granby Connecticut. The aircraft hangar door system consisted of a five leaf one way stacking door system and clad with a insulated metal panel. The most interesting feature of this system is the use of the clear story panels in the upper portion of the door, Well Bilt supplied the framing to accommodate the glass system and provide a weather tight seal. This door is powered by a single drive unit that Well Bilt manufactures called the ZEUS drive. The Zeus Steel Wheel design is manufactured to be able to be released during power failures. Aircraft hangar doors this size rely on a powerful and reliable operator to open and closes the door even during the icy winter months.
This aircraft hangar doors supports C-130 Aircraft, and with projects that are specified Well Bilt meets and exceeds the specified designs with all of the latest safety products such as safe edge that lets the user know when the system is inoperative, or the use of interlocks for the personnel doors located in the hangar door panel. This interlock prevents the door from moving when the personnel door is in use. Along with the use of horns and strobes to bring attention to the door all Well Bilt hangar doors are adequately labeled for user instructions.
This aircraft hangar door system is design with a pocket to the one side to provide exceptional weather seal in the coldest of temperatures. Well Bilt Industries USA is proud of its extensive Military projects it has provided throughout the world.
